the son of geb and nut, brother of osiris
a terrible power with debatable restraint and loyalties, destined to quarrel with order forever

the black sheep of his family, set was once simply considered the god of the desert, its storms, and darkness.
he was the escort of ra himself during his passage across the sky, until his boastful nature deprived him of the
responsibility. when his brother, osiris, was judged as the lord of all egypt, set became extremely jealous of his
brother's fortune, seeing no reason that the title could not be his own. after his wife tricked osiris into sleeping
with her, baring her an illegitimate son (anubis), set was undone with rage. hetricked osiris into an ornate coffin, trapped him,
and sent him down the river. after isis found and returned osiris, set dismembered his body and scattered the
pieces all across the land, feeding a final piece, osiris' phallus, to a fish. nevertheless, isis bore a child, horus,
who would engage in a battle with set. they warred on, each healed by thoth, until each side had
taken something from the other. legend shifted to say that horus defeated set, but the truth is the battle has
always raged, and will continue to do so until the end of days. set is a true agent of chaos, an antagonist with
an indomitable pride and the will to see a world at war. he seems to love nothing but himself and the trouble
he can cause among the mortals. he is an arms dealer that sells to the highest bidder, a leader of several mercenary
groups, and has his fingers in many other illegal activities. dualistically, set finds himself traveling often, and both
attends and creates parties that have a habit of getting out of hand. he is an incorrigible flirt and has a sexual
appetite that is almost enough to rival his need for disorder, taking those who will have him, and sometimes those
who won't. his temper is considerable and seemingly unpredictable, reigning over any and everyone until his
anger burns itself out. sometimes that isn't until there is nothing left to decimate. the only ones that seem to have
any sort of control over him are his minders, and even then, they may not be completely immune from his hand.
he keeps a rivalry with horus that has resulted in the loss of minders on both sides. but set seems to feel no loss;
there are always minders to be found so long as the human race persists.
